Khadir Bark, botanically identified as Acacia Catechu, is traditionally known as Khadir, Khadira, Cutch Bark, and Black Catechu Bark in Ayurvedic and regional traditions. The inner bark of mature trees is carefully harvested, sun-dried, and cleaned to retain its natural astringent and phytochemical properties.

Ayurvedic Properties & Common Uses

In Ayurveda, Khadir Bark is described with Kashaya (astringent) rasa, Sheeta virya, and Guru–Ruksha guna, traditionally associated with balancing Pitta and Kapha doshas. Classical texts reference Khadir Bark in digestive aids, anti-diarrheal formulations, oral health preparations, and wound care compound formulations.
