Makoy Panchang Powder, botanically identified as Solanum Nigrum, is commonly known as Makoy, Makoi, Macoy, Black Nightshade, and Kakamachi. In Ayurveda, the term Panchang indicates the use of the entire plant (roots, stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits). The whole plant is carefully harvested, shade-dried, and finely powdered to preserve its cooling and therapeutic properties.

According to classical Ayurvedic texts, Makoy exhibits Tikta–Kashaya rasa, Sheeta virya, and Laghu guna, making it particularly beneficial for balancing Pitta dosha.
